Hypnobirthing With Anja - MAY 2024 IN-PERSON CLASSES

The BEST preparation for a calm and positive birth!

What is Hypnobirthing?

  • Hypnobirthing is a very logical birth preparation course based on the science of your body and mind.
  • The course offers you a complete antenatal course teaching you how you can work with your body and manage each stage of labour with calm and confidence, how to make informed choices if any interventions are suggested, how to work harmoniously with your care team and stand up for your birth rights and wishes, how to create a relaxing birth setting in any location and how your birth partner can play a supportive, hands-on role so you can completely depend on them throughout pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Many antenatal classes only prepare you physically and practically for childbirth but they neglect the most important piece of the puzzle- emotional and mental preparation.
  • Hypnobirthing is different because it gives you all the tools and techniques you need to feel emotionally calm and confident in childbirth. If you feel calm in your mind, your physical experience will be a lot more comfortable and you will be able to manage any pain or discomfort easily. Your mind directly influences how your body functions so having a relaxed mind (and body) in labour allows your uterine muscles and birth hormones to work effectively and efficiently for you throughout the entire birth process.
  • In order to feel calm and relaxed in labour, it is important to overcome any childbirth fears or anxieties you may carry and replace them with an optimistic and trusting outlook. A hypnobirthing course will also teach you exactly how to do this in a few simple steps.

"It is safe to say that Anja delivered more than we could have even wished for.
The hypnobirthing sessions were informative but light when needed (we were often in fits of giggles together). There were plenty of materials to take away and as my husband felt more involved and able to support me during labour. The difference between my first difficult labour, to the second where I was so in control that I nearly didn't make the hospital, was astonishing. I also felt more confident to question staff if needed which again helped me to feel safer and more in control.
Most importantly, the easier labour has helped me to bond with my new baby which is priceless. I am so grateful to Anja. She is a truly wonderful, funny and inspirational lady"

"Anja is one of those special, super lovely, open and understanding people - exactly what you want when doing a course like this to explore and navigate pregnancy and birth. You can ask her anything and she’ll share her wealth of knowledge, stories and experience with an open heart. The classes were a very accessible mixture of visualisation, relaxation, breathing techniques, physiology, birthing options and positions.
We learnt so much from the sessions and it put us solidly on the same page to prepare for the birth. I wouldn’t hesitate to do it all again! If you’re tempted, go for it. Good luck!"

Alice and John did my hypnobirthing course for baby number 2!

What will you and your partner learn in each session?

Session One:

In the first session you will be learning all about the power of relaxation and self-hypnosis for labour and birth.

We will talk about the mind/body connection and its impact on the birth process, the hormones associated with birth and the importance of positive language and positive thinking.

You learn 2 powerful breathing techniques to use during your baby's birth.

In session one, we also focus on the importance of your birth setting and you will learn how to create a calm and relaxing birth environment in any location.

Session Two:

In session two, we cover the role of the birth partner, physical relaxation and how massage and positive touch can play a key role during pregnancy and the birth process. Your birth partner learns simple but effective gentle stroke/massage techniques to relax and nurture you during pregnancy and childbirth. We also cover an important question sequence to help you and your partner make informed choices during pregnancy and childbirth.

You will learn the correct way of doing pelvic floor exercises and perineal massage to prevent incontinence post-birth and to reduce your risk of having a bad vaginal tear when you birth your baby.

I also teach you and your partner a simple way to bond with your baby in the womb and how to manage stress during pregnancy.

Session Three:

Session three is building on how you can prepare physically for your baby's birth.

You will also learn how to get your baby into the optimal head down birth position in the womb by doing simple things every day (but also what to do if your baby doesn't get the memo!)

You will learn about pre-labour interventions, how to gently and naturally encourage your baby to make an appearance at 40-ish weeks, what to do if you go passed your "due date", what an induction entails and how to make it a positive experience should you decide to accept one.

Final Session:

In the final session, the focus is on the different stages of labour.

You will be taught what to expect during each stage of the birth process and how you can navigate through each stage calmly and confidently.

We will discuss birth plans, what to do if your original birth plan takes an unexpected turn (medical interventions, chemical pain relief) and how to make informed choices so that the outcome can still be just as positive for you and your baby.

You will also learn how best to deal with any distractions during labour so that you can remain positive, peaceful and centred throughout the entire birth process.

I will talk about C-section birth and how to have a positive experience even if it is unplanned and unexpected.

Video Testimonial from Jilly S- first time mummy :)

"Hey Anja! So I have an update! Our daughter Alanna Jude Eaton was born yesterday morning. Labour was fast as expected 3.5/4 hours from start to finish but I very much 'went with the flow'. The biggest achievements were that I got to 7cm at home and wait for it....she came out in about 5 minutes and I was upright when delivering!
Thank you so much for taking me through hypnobirthing and equipping me with all that fantastic knowledge! Your relaxation audios were the highlight I have to say. I found myself saying "I am relaxing" in between surges, I could hear your voice in my head! Thank you so much for everything!"
